INDUSTRY

Carrick-on-Suir is a thriving town of 8,000 inhabitants serving a local community of some 12,000 people. It has an abundance of retail, service and commercial activities that continue to grow and prosper. Excellent housing, superb educational facilities and an advanced infrastructure make it an ideal location in the South East. The recent designation of a substantial tract of land for a biotechnology park is testament to Carrick-on-Suir's prospects. The Economic Development Committee chaired by Jim Power economist is co-ordinating many initiatives that will result in further development of the commercial potential of the area.
